The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has been working for month to prepare the industry for CSA 2010. Currently this is being tested in 6 states with a full launch set to begin in July 2010 nationwide.
This new system will provide a new safety performance measurement initiative and will provide a fresh look at how it evaluates the safety of motor carriers and drivers.
How will this change affect drivers?
- Unsafe carrier and driver behaviors that lead to crashes will be identified and addressed
- Drivers will be more accountable for safe on-road performance
The overall objective for this new initiative is to increase safety on the Nation’s roads, benefiting both commercial and public drivers.
