OSHA issued a memo this past Wednesday informing OSHA Compliance officers to check and verify that workers are receiving OSHA required training in a language they understand. In the US when we think of ‘Non English Speakers’ we automatically think of Latino workers, and most businesses would be able to supply material in Spanish. Those who provide training should realize that this term can apply to any one who does not speak English and could apply to those who speak French, Italian, German, Chinese, Arabic, etc.
Take a moment to review your training material and work with HR to check to see which employers may need material translated into their native language to insure that all your workers remain safe on the job.
